description: Rare early Winston two handed tournament rod original made for tournament caster Ed Tassi who held a few records at the Golden Gate casting club. I'm sure the rod was used for surf casting or Spey if need be but seem a bit fast for Spey action. So would be more of a rod that was used to fish the bay for strippers in the surf around the late 1940's. The rod itself in 4lbs 7.1ozs and very stout! Needs the male ferrule refit and one guide replaced but what a piece of history. This rod has made it's rounds having been owned by André Puyans.
