description: A wonderful small stream rod. This Gary Howells light Trout rod at 2-5/8oz is good to go with a 4 or 5wt line. Listed at a 7ft 5wt 2/2 rod. Circa 1971 serial number 3860. The rod is 1" short on the female ferrule as reflected in the price. This make the rod a 6'11" on the money. I have cast this rod and with out a doubt there is no difference in casting performance it wonderful. This is the only issue with the rod. So take advantage of being able to get into a light Trout Howells at a much lower price. If you ever wanted to fish a shorter Howell at half the price then this rod is for you!
