description: Excellent example of a late 50's Payne model 96 at 2-1/4ozs. The rod will cast a 3 or 4 weight line. The finish is perfect with everything straight, full cork reel seat like that of the Parabolic with a very light patina to the cork, it's perfect, black sliding band and butt cap, not a mark on them. The only thing I could find on the rod is that most likely the tips were not alternated. So the 1st tip show more ware at the tip top while the other tip look almost new. The rod tube is in great shape and is about 85%. Sorry the tag was lost at some point.
