description: One of a kind Winston Perfect 3 reel set serial #020 in 2-7/8", 3-1/8" and 3-3/8" brand new in a Beautiful Winston logo wood case with scenery. Please let me explain. When Hardy first made the first run of Winston Perfect's they were painted green, yes painted! What were they thinking. Well, it didn't take long and with most of the reels the finish came right off. The reels were later recalled by Winston but some like this case of reels were not return. The original owner of this set had a better idea. He had a professional reelsmith strip each reel down to bare metal which came out looking like what you now see in the photo's. A beautiful flat silver very similar to the spitfire finish just not as flashy which can be a good thing . The reels look like the came from the Hardy factory this way. Just amazing job! What a wonderful way of creating a one of a kind set. This is the first one I have ever seen.
