description: GREAT PRICE FOR A MODEL 200. Beautiful Stan Bogdan Model 200 Salmon Reel made by Stan in the late 60's not very many of these around. Sold by Abercombie & Fitch in the New York store. Also this reel is stamped on the reel foot A&F 200 M for Multiplier, 1.91:1 retrieve ratio (rounded up to the familiar 2:1) multiplier, and combined with with his peerless cam-driven two-shoe breaking system, is still hailed as the best braking system ever designed.Very nice black and gold finish in "E" condition with honest ware to the rim and drag knob. The reel itself look to have seen little action and very well maintain over the years by the Lewis family and yes tis reel was only fished on the finest of Pinky Gillum's Salmon rod as the became very good friends of the family if you have read any of the Gillum rods sold! Great reel for any collection as these older Bogdan's are getting harder to find in any type of condition. Abercrombie and Fitch colors of the light champagne with black accents. This reel is set up for right hand retreive. These reels are actually in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. These reels have established their reputation with the likes of Lee Wulff, Ted Williams, Thomas Aquinas Daly, who actually did a watercolor of Stan and his rod and reel in "Stan Bogdan at Charley Valley Rock" (2003), and an oil "Still Life with a 150". No other reels have had such tributes, nor has any other reel designer received the well deserved acclaim that Stan Bogdan has received. Guy Coheleach also did an oil on linen titled Fish On , again featuring Stan with his legendary reel. No other reel offers such history, craftsmanship, and sheer joy of ownership than a Bogdan. You are purchasing a piece of history and legend, not just a reel.You might as well buy the best of the best Bogdan!!!
