description: A magnificent Hiram Leonard Rod with the H.L. Leonard makers mark. Built between 1879-1886 as far as we can narrow it down too. This makers mark was not used after Mills bought controlling interest of H.L. Leonard. This superb early Leonard has all it's original hardware and is obviously in "M" condition restored. The rod was originally sold by Martin Keane and whoever Marty commissioned for this restoration did it to perfection! Everything is in order!!! Just a wonderful piece of fly fishing history! The rod came in a replacement velvet rod sock. I feel a nice Mason leather tube or a vintage tube would be in order if purchased.
