description: To usher in the New Year I have listed this very special rod from the late great Sam Carlson. What makes this rod so special is that it's one of only 4 rods Sam ever made in this small size, she sure is a little beauty! It also happens to be "Mint" in as new never fished condition! Just a special rod in all respects! It would really be interesting to find out if the other 3 rods are still around and in good working order, fill free to contact me. Probably one of the finest small stream dry fly rods you will ever find. Sam only built a few hundred rods in his lifetime. Standard flamed cane, red wraps with black tipping, cork reel seat with black sliding band and butt cap. This is truly a special rod in many ways as most are in my book.. This Carlson Four was the 3rd rod made in 1979 and is numbered 793-462, a 3wt 6ft 2pc 2tip rod. The rod itself has been stored in a control environment for all these years! Just a wonderful piece of fly fishing history for the Master of the Quad.
