description: Great Rod at this price!!!Another beauty from the past. Rare H.S. Pinky Gillum #546 Circa mid to late 40's one of the greatest classic makers from our past. His rods continue to get records prices when original or kept as near original as possible which is what Steve Blakes had in mind with this rod. He kept the integrity of the rod. A few wraps needed to be replaced and the ferrule needed to be refitted. Very nice fit now "NO CLICKING" The rod cast great with a wf6, the finish is still original with fading to Gillums script but you can still make it out "H.S. Gillum Custom Built" with faded serial numbers on each tip near the male ferrule 546. Still has original rod label but is about 75% not bad. Beautiful cork with very light patina, Halstead style heavy aluminum up locking reel seat "not stamped", mahogany spacer with beautiful brown wraps tipped in gold Payne style. This is a wonderful casting rod one cast and you'll be sold!!!
