description: Beautiful R.D. Taylor Fly Rod. Kind of a rare rod as this was the 6th rod he made in 1985 after leaving H.L. Leonard Rod Co. His number system started with his first rod at number 101. Oven temper light cane with maroon silk wraps and translucent tan tipping at the hook keeper, ferrules and tips. Flawless varnish, tapered cigar grip with black nickel silver sliding band and butt cap. Also very nice touch with the cherry wood spacer. The is a very nice medium fast dry fly action with reserve power to throw tight loops in the wind. Where can you find a vintage 80's R.D. Taylor rod that is new and never fished? This rod is one for the collectors as Bob is one of the great Hudson valley Catskill's rod makers!
