description: Beautiful Merrick/Morgan era Classic Cane Rod circa 1974. R.L. Winston Ultra-Light Trout serial number 1357 with Patent number written on the butt section. This rod is a one owner rod purchased from Merrick! The only reason it's not rated as Mint is because for some reason one tip of the rod was made 1/8th inch short at the male ferrule end. This has no affect on the rod what so ever and is very easy to over be looked as I did the first time I saw this rod. Again no repair or damage was ever done to this rod as confirm by Glenn bracket and original owner. It was made like this! Light medium toned cane rod at 3oz, tan silk wraps with maroon tipping at hook keeper and signature wraps. Modified half wells grip with all cork reel seat with bright aluminum single sliding band and butt cap, Carbaloy stripper guide with chrome stainless snake guides. Durobronze ferrules wrapped with tan silk. 100% original!!! Smooth full flexing light line 3 or 4 weight rod .
