Perfect for a for a 4 weight line but I have used mine on a short 5wt with less backing. Just looks stunning on a 4 or 5 weight cane rod. Setup for RHW but can be change to LHW. One of the greatest traditional style reels ever made and this one is still just like in came for Stan back in the day!
